Coconut is a major plantation crops in Sri Lanka which is approximately 12% of all agricultural production in the country. A range of top quality coconut based products are manufactured and exported. Coconut desiccated is sometimes referred as coconut powder which is dehydrated and pounded from freshly selected white coconut meat / kernel.
It is pure white in color and has a fresh taste mainly used for cooking purpose and other food industries as biscuits, sweets, chocolates, cake, bakery and many other productions. It contains approximately 70% of oil, 7% of sugar 1% of nitrogen & 4% of fiber. Benefits of coconut are no cholesterol, low in sodium, high in manganese and serves to keep artery walls flexible thus reducing blood pressure.
